The new recruit will report to Intrepid managing director EMEA Zina Bencheikh.
Bencheikh said Intrepid’s decision to create the role reflected the importance of the UK market to the operator.
“We’re excited to have created the new role of general manager for Intrepid in the UK," said Bencheikh.
"This reflects the importance of the UK market to the business as we recover from the pandemic. The new GM will be charged with driving sales and new business from this market and growing our team here in London."
The appointment will allow Bencheikh to focus on growing other EMEA markets, although Intrepid said she would continue to be heavily involved with the operator’s UK business.
Intrepid’s new GM will chiefly be responsible for providing leadership and business management in the UK and Ireland, implementing strategic plans, managing day-to-day business, and ensuring the firm achieves its targets.
They will also be tasked with driving growth in regional sales and business development through a multi-distribution strategy, including expanding external partnerships – such as those with the UK travel trade.
The role is London based.
