Following a “disastrous, turbulent year” for the airline sector, Which? said Jet2 stood out for its cheap tickets, good customer service and timely payment of compensation.
“Jet2 has proved it’s possible to provide cheap tickets and good customer service,” it said.
Which? also singled out Jet2’s tour operation, Jet2holidays, for the quality of its package holiday products, noting how customers spoke of “premium service” at budget prices.
Travel Brand of the Year runners up were HF Holiday, Premier Inn and Riviera Travel.
Jet2 has held Which? Recommended Provider status for the past two years, the only UK airline to have achieved this to date.
Steve Lee, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays commercial director, said: “We are very proud to be named Which? Travel Brand of the Year, as it is a ringing endorsement of the service that we give our customers.
"These coveted awards are given to organisations that provide the very best customer experience, and it goes to show that the investment and hard work that we put into delivering a VIP experience for our customers is working.”
The awards took place at Kings Place in London and were hosted by Which? chief executive Peter Vicary-Smith and TV presenter Naga Munchetty
Vicary-Smith said the awards rewarded brands that “consistently put customers first” following a rigorous selection process which considers research, testing and endorsements by Which? experts and feedback from members and customers.
“Which? awards are not handed out to just anyone,” he said. “This year’s winners have reached exceptional standards, delivering excellent products, services and value for money.”
