Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have expanded their summer 2022 programme at Manchester airport with an extra flight to a brand-new destination, as well as more flights to several favourites.
The airline and operator will offer a second weekly flight to Sardinia, a new destination for summer 2022. Jet2 will operate the service every Saturday morning from 23 July to 24 September.
Elsewhere, Jet2 is adding capacity for the Balearics and Greek islands from Manchester; to Ibiza, Jet2 will offer additional Saturday and Sunday services from 23 July to 25 September. This means it will offer up to three services a day at weekends, in addition to 16 weekly services.
Meanwhile, to Majorca, Jet2 is adding extra Thursday flights from 21 July to 22 September, upping total weekly departures to the island to 27 – including up to five Thursday services.
An extra Sunday service to Santorini, operating between 24 July and 25 September, will expand Jet2’s programme to up to four weekly services.
Jet2 said it was continuing to see strong demand for Med destinations with travel returning to normal and more holidaymakers "looking to make up for missing out for the past two summers".
“Over the past couple of years, we have always maintained demand will come roaring back once customers start to see travel returning to normal," said Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive Steve Heapy.
"That is really proving to be the case, with all seasons and all types of holiday looking extremely popular. Summer 2022 is the long-awaited moment when everyone can all finally enjoy a normal summer holiday once again, and our customers are flocking to get that sunshine booked in."
Heapy, though, warned people would need to get their trips booked in early to avoid missing out. "As always, we will be responding to demand by adding more flights and holidays, such as the additional capacity we are announcing to Sardinia, Santorini, Majorca and Ibiza," he said.
"Although we always look to give our customers unrivalled choice and flexibility, this strong demand coupled with holidaymakers looking to really treat themselves this summer, could make things look a little different this year.
"For instance, with holidaymakers acting quickly to book the best rooms, hotels and destinations, the late deal could well become harder to find as the year progresses.”
