The overhaul, which was announced on 5 January, saw pre-departure testing scrapped and Day 2 PCRs replaced with antigen tests.
According to consumer polling conducted by Jet2holidays, nearly half (47%) of customers said they were more likely to book an overseas holiday as a direct result of the relaxation of the restrictions.
Furthermore, over half (56%) of respondents said they felt confident about travelling, which is the highest this figure has been since October 2021 and a 10% increase compared to the same time two weeks ago.
Following the announcement, Jet2holidays reportedly saw its bookings jump by 150% for holidays to destinations such as Greece, Turkey, Spain, the Canaries, the Balearic Islands, Malta and Portugal.
In response to the increase in demand, the operator has launched a flash sale which gives customers £50 off per person on all holidays for winter 21/22 and 22/23 and this summer and next if they book through an independent travel agent.
All bookings must be made by midnight on 7 February 2022 for the promotion to apply.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said the return in customer confidence has "come at the right time for the travel industry" and for the company’s agent partners.
"After so much uncertainty, the relaxation of travel restrictions has unleashed the pent-up demand from customers who just want to enjoy some time together with their loved ones, whether that is in the sunshine or on a city break," he added.
"It is clear that the removal of unnecessary and unwelcome restrictions is exactly what customers wanted."
