Jet2holidays suspends Vienna departures amid lockdown

Jet2holidays has cancelled all flights and holidays to Vienna up to and including 1 December after the Austrian government imposed a national lockdown on Monday (22 November).

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said the 2023 October half-term period is proving to be an "extremely popular time” for families to take a holiday

The carrier will deploy an extra aircraft at the base to support the expansion

Under the new measures, Austrians will be asked to work from home and non-essential shops will close. Restrictions will continue until 11 December but will be reassessed after 10 days.
