Savill joins Newmarket from HF Holidays where he was business development manager, bringing nearly 20 years’ travel trade experience to his new post following stints with Hays Travel, Dawson & Sanderson, First Choice and Tui.

Reporting into head of trade sales and partnerships Richard Forde, who was recently handed his expanded partnerships brief at Newmarket, Savill will assume responsibility for existing and future partnerships while helping deliver business growth and additional revenue.

He will be tasked with executing a comprehensive new partnership strategy, from identifying and reaching out to potential new partners through to negotiating with them and then bringing them onboard.

Newmarket said agents could look forward to stronger ties as a result.

Savill said he was looking forward to applying his commercial and strategic experience, and background in partnership development, at a business with which he has long worked alongside.

"I’m excited to rise to the challenge and ensure the company remains top of its game in the ever-competitive travel industry," he added."

David Sharman, Newmarket Holidays chief commercial officer, added: "As we continue to grow, this new role is critical in terms of generating new partnerships for the company across all available channels. With Kieran’s background, he will undoubtedly support the retail team, coming with added strategic opportunities gained with his insights from his retail experience.

"We’re delighted to add further support to our retail team, which will boost prospects for growth for us and our partners. This also puts us in a strong position to seek out new partnerships and enables us to further enhance our product portfolio which will benefit all our current partners. As we already have a strong relationship with Kieran, I’m delighted he is now part of our team."
