The addition comes as part of the Latin American Travel Association’s (Lata) engagement strategy with the UK travel trade. Lata Expo 2021 will take place virtually from 11-15 October.
The programme will give agents access to the daily seminars and content sessions that feature as part of the overall event, along with a dedicated training regime that has been designed to grow the knowledge of Latin America.
Training sessions will take place on each day of the show for 30 minutes. The opening training session will provide an overview of Latin America’s tourism offering and has been designed for both agents who have an existing knowledge of the destination and those who do not.
Lata chairman, Colin Stewart, said the travel agent community in the UK has become a "focal point" of the association’s strategy.
"We want to engage with agents from all over the UK and understand how best to support them to be able to increase their destination confidence," he added.
"From our research and focus groups, we know that there are gaps in the travel agent product knowledge related to Latin America and we want to address this to enable sales to the region and support tourism recovery."
