Loganair to launch operations from East Midlands airport

Loganair has announced it will launch operations from East Midlands airport in the autumn, flying to Brussels and Inverness.

Loganair to launch operations from East Midlands airport

The Scottish regional carrier’s two new routes will get under way on September 2 and will be operated by 49-seat Embraer 145 jets.

Flights to Brussels will depart at 6.50am Monday to Thursday, returning at 7.00pm, with additional afternoon services on Fridays and Sundays.

The one hour 10 minute route was previously operated by Flybmi but was pulled when the airline ceased operations in February.

Loganair’s one hour 35 minute Inverness route, meanwhile, will operate six times a week departing midday and turning around immediately at 2pm.

It is the first time Loganair has operated passenger flights from East Midlands airport.

Managing director Jonathan Hinkles said: “I am extremely pleased to announce the expansion of our route map while also beginning passenger services from East Midlands airport.

“Both of these convenient airlinks will benefit the overall region, connecting with Belgium’s largest city – home to thousands of multinational businesses while Scotland’s Highlands are now just over 90 minutes away.”

Brussels fares lead in from £69.99 and Inverness from £49.99, both including 20kg hold luggage.
