Alex Marples brings more than 15 years’ leadership experience to the newly created role at Luxtripper, and will "set the stage for the company’s next stage of growth".
Marples is a former chief operating officer at Crowdfunder UK and also directed service operations at the Department of Health and Social Care, as well as operations at Domestic & General.
"His extensive background will be instrumental in building a high-performance commercial function, optimising operational efficiency, and driving the company’s expansion through customer acquisition and retention strategies," said Luxtripper.
Luxtripper was founded by Nena Chaletzos in 2015 with the aim of simplifying luxury travel planning, and has over the past year expanded its offering to trips that span the entire globe. It now has more than 120 employees based across the UK and India.
Marples said he had been impressed by the business’s rapid growth, and its "vision, values and ambition". "The potential of Luxtripper as it continues to leverage technology to make complex luxury travel planning simple is really exciting, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in developing and transforming the commercial function as we enter this next stage of growth," he said.
Founder and chief executive Chaletzos added the new CCO role would focus on creating "high-performing" teams within Luxtripper and expanding the firm’s client base.
"His proven track record, accompanied by a deep understanding of the digital landscape and passion for creating exceptional customer experiences, make him the ideal candidate to lead our efforts," said Chaletzos of Marples.
