The island’s health minister Chris Fearne confirmed the relaxation of restrictions in the Maltese parliament, The Times of Malta reports.
Fearne said the Covid situation had remained stable over recent weeks, even after the major restrictions had been lifted. The number of infections was decreasing and hospitalisation figures remain low.
Currently, children aged under 12 need to produce a negative PCR test before being allowed to enter Malta. That will no longer apply from June 6, the minister explained.
Also from this date, childcare centres will no longer have to follow social distancing requirements.
TTG has approached the Malta Tourism Authority for further details.
