MAN is hosting a special jobs fair on Tuesday (7 February) at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, which will also feature around 25 other employers at the airport including ground handlers Swissport and dnata, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, restaurants and retail operators, specialist aviation service providers, cleaning contractors and construction firms.
The airport itself is looking specifically to fill a variety of customer service, security, hospitality and car parking roles.
"The airport is working with all its partner organisations to prepare for a busy summer, and ensure passengers get the best possible experience when the travel through the Northern hub," said MAN.
Swissport has vacancies for ramp and baggage agents, lounge hosts and customer service agents, with any new recruits set to join more than a hundred who have already been offered positions ahead of the summer.
The event will take place from 10am to 2pm. Manchester airport managing director Chris Woodroofe revealed the airport took on more than 2,000 new colleagues last year, more than half of whom are staffing security roles at the airport.
"We are now looking ahead to a busy summer in 2023, and are delighted to be able to recruit for a variety of roles," he said. "We are always on the lookout for talented and passionate people who can help us to deliver a high-quality experience for our passengers."
Woodroofe added MAN was working closely with Swissport, in particular, to build resilience ahead of the summer, and said "good progress" was being made.
