The parent of Explore Worldwide, Inghams, Inntravel, Esprit Ski and Santa’s Lapland has confirmed it is “well on the way” to “business as usual” after its brands’ IT systems were hit by a cyberattack.
Hotelplan UK disclosed the attack on 12 December following a weekend of disruption and promptly decided to shut down key systems across each of its brands as a precaution.
However, Hotelplan, on Thursday (21 December), confirmed “most of our systems have now been restored”, adding it was working around-the-clock to ensure everything was quickly resolved.
“We are well on the way back to business as usual,” it confirmed.
“There has been no impact on existing bookings and departures and we can make new bookings across all brands.
“There may be a few things that are not completely back online yet, but we are working around the clock to ensure everything is resolved as quickly as possible so we can resume the level of service that agents, partners and customers expect from us.”
Michael Edwards, Explore Worldwide managing director, confirmed the brand was taking bookings again.
"I know that our systems being down might have caused you inconvenience, and I’d like to apologise again for any disruption," he said.
"There may be a few things that are not completely back online yet, so please bear with us, and use the contact details on the website if your usual ones don’t work."
