The 18-35 operator created its new trio of new Limited Edition Summer Series after research carried out across both trade and consumer channels found that millennial travellers were interested in learning new skills during their getaways.
The tours “Munch”, “Snap” and “Boutique Local” will each focus on an aspect of European culture with a modern twist.
Contiki’s nine-day Munch tour will feature a “gastronomic journey” through France, Spain and Italy, during which guests can take part in cooking classes, pasta making lessons, Tuscan dinners, market tours and wine-making tutorials, leading in at £1,795pp.
The operator’s Snap itinerary is aimed at avid users of Instagram and budding photographers to make the most of a selection of “once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities”.
The trip will be co-hosted by an experienced Instagrammer who will share their photo-taking tips as travellers are taken around Salzburg, Prague, Berlin, Venice and Ljubljana, starting from £1,725pp.
Completing the range is Contiki’s 12-day Boutique Local offering, which the operator said would enable clients to “get up close and personal with the coolest neighbourhoods in Spain and Portugal.” Costing from £2,515pp, the package sees travellers visit Lisbon, Porto, Salamanca, Madrid, Bilbao and Barcelona, with access to boutique accommodation.
Each tour will carry 30 guests with a select number of departure dates available in summer 2017.
Donna Jeavons, sales and marketing director UK and Europe, said: “The Limited Edition Summer Series is testament to Contiki’s innovation. We might have 54 years in the business but we are always evolving our product based on what our travellers want. We know our consumers, we know their desires and their behaviours, and this collection is a direct result of that insight. We know they’ll absolutely love these trips.”
