The vessel, currently under construction in Italy, had been due to depart Amsterdam on 17 August for an eight-night sailing, later arriving in Reykjavík for its christening ceremony.
NCL had already been forced to cancel Prima’s UK trade showcase cruise from Southampton this summer due to supply issues.
Pop star Katy Perry is set to christen Prima as its godmother in the Icelandic capital on 27 August, with the ship’s first revenue sailing currently scheduled to depart from Amsterdam at the start of September.
An NCL spokesperson said: “Due to supply chain challenges, it was necessary for us to cancel Norwegian Prima’s 17 August 2022 voyage from Amsterdam.
“At this time there are no further changes to her inaugural season. We apologise for the inconvenience to our guests and appreciate their understanding. We look forward to welcoming our guests onboard our newest vessel very soon.”
