The testing providers new Covid recovery certificate provides official confirmation that a traveller has tested positive for covid and recovered fully in the past 180 days for Spain, and the past four months for France, satisfying both destinations’ entry requirements for arrivals who are not fully vaccinated.
Both countries only consider people to be fully vaccinated when they have had a booster jab, or a second jab within the past 270 days. According to UK government figures, around 10 million people in the UK who received the first two covid vaccinations did not get a booster jab.
The certificate, which costs £59, can be provided to anyone who has returned a positive covid test through a Department of Health and Social Care-listed provider within the past 180 days. Certificates can be supplied within 12 hours following confirmation of the customer’s positive test.
Without the certificate, travellers who are not fully vaccinated can opt for a booster jab 14 days or more before they travel, or take a negative PCR test within three days before their departure, or a lateral flow test within 24 hours for Spain, or 48 hours for France.
Cignpost ExpressTest’s co-founder Nick Markham said: "10 million adults face travel disappointment if they go to Spain or France because of the timing of their second jab. Frequent travellers face the hassle of repeat tests for every trip they take. Many will have had Covid in the past few months and so are now immune to passing it on. Our fully accredited certification makes it easier for them to travel safely."
