Upwards of 60% of people booking with Inghams are new to the brand, boss Joe Ponte revealed at the launch of the operator’s Elevate Your Winter campaign on Tuesday (19 October).
Inghams’ ski bookings in the two weeks preceding the event were up 35% on where they were during the same period in 2019, said Ponte, while total sales have doubled over the past five weeks as the prospect of an uninterrupted winter season grows stronger – the first since 2018/19.
"Sixty-three percent of people are booking for the first time," said Ponte. "It is testament to the work we have done to look after customers."
The uptick in bookings from new-to-Inghams clients reflects the findings of Club Med’s annual ski report, released earlier this week; the resort operator polled 2,000 UK adults, with 62% of those questioned revealing they would take their first ski or snowboarding holiday this winter, up from 40% ahead of winter 2020/21.
Ponte also revealed Finland was on the cusp of selling out for winter 2021/22, with availability tightening on some ski routes too as demand returns.
