EasyJet has appointed Ryanair’s Peter Bellew its new chief operating officer.
Bellew joins from the Irish budget carrier where he has been COO since December 2017, with responsibility for all aspects of Ryanair’s flight operations.
A former Malaysian Airlines chief executive, Bellew will join easyJet’s airline management board and report to chief executive Johan Lundgren.
EasyJet made the announcement in its third quarter trading update on Thursday morning (18 July).
The carrier posted revenue up 11.4% to £1.761 billion for the three months to 30 June.
It expects to deliver full-year profit, before tax, of between £400 million and £440 million, which easyJet said was “in line with market expectations”.
