Norse Atlantic Airways launched its inaugural flight from Gatwick to New York JFK on Friday (12 August)
The low-cost carrier, which is operating a daily Boeing 787 Dreamliner service with fares leading in from £357pp return, also has also started flights between Gatwick and Oslo.
The route will allow Norse passengers to fly from the Norwegian capital on to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Los Angeles.
Further US destinations would be “announced soon”, the airline said.
