The company’s travel consultants made more cruise bookings in September than any other month in the company’s 22-year history.
Cruise sales quadrupled year-on-year last month, thanks to the company’s “aggressive expansion into the cruise market”, NJT said.
It has developed its cruise training programme for its agents and struck partnership deals with several cruise lines.
Last month, NJT revealed sales of Virgin Voyages by its consultants, franchisees and homeworkers had increased by 400% over the past year, thanks to its partnership with the line.
Travel consultants have also been involved in NJT’s Breaking Waves internal campaign, which saw cruise line partners drive engagement and sales with more franchisees than ever before.
Chief commercial officer Chris Harrison said: “Not only have sales been phenomenal, the average value of bookings has increased dramatically, ultimately generating more earnings.
“The partnerships we have with our key cruise partners has meant more engagement through training, promotion of products and more sales than ever before.
“One of the most pleasing stats, however, is we have over 80% more people selling cruises within our business compared to the same time last year."
