The decathlete, who has four world records, two Olympic gold medals and three Commonwealth titles, has already attended conferences and retreats to inspire travel consultants about what it takes to succeed, but will now feature in customer-facing videos about why they should book with Not Just Travel.

“Being a travel agent is one of the nicest things you can be, if you’ve got the choice. You interpret people’s dreams and make them come true,” he told TTG. “I’m fascinated by the journeys people have taken to join Not Just Travel – the careers they have left and why they wanted to be a homeworker.

“The skills you need to be successful in most ventures are the same,” he continued. “You’ve got to make some plans, do the right preparation, then keep going until you get there.”

Thompson explained he had experienced the challenges of being an entrepreneur through launching and running his own gym, Daley Fitness, in Putney.
