The main Washington hub is the fourth-largest US to Reykjavik passenger market, which Play said made it “a key opportunity”
Birgir Jonsson, Play chief executive, said “From autumn 2022, Dulles International airport will be connected to Washington DC via the Silver Line of the Washington Metro, which will allow passengers to reach DC within 50 minutes for just $6, leaving more money to spend in the city’s great museums, restaurants, and galleries.”
Dulles (IAD) will complement Play’s current flight offering to Baltimore/Washington airport (BWI).
Play now operates six single aisle Airbus A320 and A321s and will have a fleet of 10 by next spring.
