Portugal, including the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo, has dropped its remaining Covid-19 entry restrictions, although some requirements remain for those heading to the Azores.

Portugal plans to speed up entry for British visitors

Late last week, Visit Portugal confirmed that as of 1 July, passengers – regardless of Covid-19 vaccination status – are no longer required to present evidence of a negative pre-departure test result for Covid-19, or of a vaccination certificate or a recent recovery from Covid-19.

Fully vaccinated and boosted travellers heading to the Azores can travel on the basis of a vaccine certificate, such as the NHS Covid Pass.

Those not fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will have to provide evidence of a negative pre-departure test result for Covid-19 dating to up to 72 hours prior to departure (PCR) or 24 hours (antigen), or evidence of a recent recovery from Covid-19.
