Joint owner Karen Pocock declined to give exact figures, but added current sales were 57% ahead of the last financial year.
Last year saw record growth for the business’s cruise sales, which more than doubled.
“We did weekly training on webinars and have a cruise focus each month working with different companies,” Pocock said. “We’ve done really well with the high-end brands and we’re starting to work with river cruise operators.”
The focus on cruise will continue alongside a new campaign, Beyond the Beach. “We have never really gone all guns blazing to find the touring market and to create complex itineraries for long-haul. We want to double what we already do,” Pocock said.
Designer Travel’s number of associates has grown to more than 115. “We were about 100; we’re growing by two to five a month,” she said. She added the brand hoped to achieve “considerable growth” in 2023/4.
The last financial year saw the team undertake more than 200 educational visits, with destinations including Oman, Thailand and Mauritius.
