The new tours have been created to link with a recently launched twice-weekly service from new airline Niceair, which will fly directly from Stansted to Akureyri on Mondays and Fridays from 3 June.
In addition to the London service, a new twice-weekly route from Manchester to Akureyri will start in October.
Around 60 miles from the Arctic Circle, Akureyri was previously only accessible via a five-hour drive or connecting domestic flights from Iceland’s largest airport, Keflavik.
Regent has also added a new four-day North Iceland Summer trip, which includes activities such as whale watching, an excursion to the fjords and a visit to the mountains and seascapes surrounding Akureyri. Prices start £1,055pp.
The brand has also launched a new small-group photography tour departing 26 September. The five-day trip is priced from £2,395pp, based on two sharing.
