Ryanair has reached a collective labour agreement (CLA) with unions representing its directly employed staff in Belgium.

Ryanair's fleet has been mostly parked during the pandemic

It means Belgian labour law will apply to all directly employed Ryanair pilots and cabin crew in Belgium by January 31 next year.

The news comes just days after the budget carrier signed a recognition agreement with Spain’s pilot union.

It paves the way for negotiations over a full CLA, as agreed in Belgium, with the SEPLA union to get under way next month.

Ryanair has, in recent months, come to similar arrangements with the SPAC and Balpa pilots’ unions in Portugal and the UK, respectively.
