New services to Barcelona, Cork, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Milan Bergamo and Riga will take off in October, boosting Ryanair’s route network at Newcastle to 15 in total.
The move represents an investment of $200 million in Newcastle, said Ryanair, one that would create 60 direct local jobs. It is Ryanair’s biggest-ever winter schedule from Newcastle.
Ryanair will operate more than 80 weekly flights from Newcastle this winter; other sun and city break destinations include Alicante, Krakow and Malaga.
Discounted sale fares for travel from October 2022 to January 2023 lead in from £21.99pp when booked by Friday (9 September).
Ryanair will operate two weekly frequencies across all six new routes.
Jason McGuinness, Ryanair director of commercial, said the additions underlined its long-term commitment to Newcastle airport and its development plan there.
