More than 60,000 flights are scheduled to depart in February, equalling 81% of 2019 levels.
According to new data from analytics firm Cirium, the number of routes from the UK to Europe’s most popular ski resorts are expected to exceed pre-pandemic levels this month.
In Austria, Innsbruck is scheduled to see 8% more UK flights this February compared to 2019, while Salzburg will see 11% more UK flights than pre-pandemic. Klagenfurt will see a 50% uplift in UK arrivals.
In France, Chambery is scheduled to see 13% more UK arrivals than February 2019, but Grenoble and Lyon remain 1% and 12% below pre-pandemic UK flight levels respectively.
Northern Italy has also shown growth with scheduled flights from the UK to Bergamo up 37% this month versus the same period in 2019.
Fellow Milan airport, Malpensa, is projected to see a 6.7% increase in UK arrivals compared to February 2019.
Flights from the UK to Geneva, Switzerland’s main skiing gateway, remain 6% down in February 2023 compared to February 2019.
