While it throws Switzerland’s ski season into doubt, with Inghams on Tuesday (30 November) revealing it has suspended all December departures to the country, skiers heading to destinations in neighbouring France and Italy won’t have to quarantine, according to the Foreign Office (FCDO).
"There is no quarantine requirement for travellers arriving in Switzerland from the UK who wish to travel onward to another country, as long as travel through Switzerland is less than 24 hours and does not involve a stopover," said the FCDO.
"There is no quarantine requirement for those in transit airside at the airport," it further confirmed, in what will come as a boost to the beleaguered ski sector, which saw winter 2019/20 curtailed and winter 2020/21 wiped out all together by Covid.
