Arrivals into Sri Lanka are no longer required to provide evidence of their Covid status either via a valid certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 or recent negative test for the virus.
The new rules came into effect from 7 December, and apply to all arrivals by air or sea. Any foreign national who tests positive for Covid after arriving in Sri Lanka will be required to isolate for seven days.
The Foreign Office updated its travel advice for Sri Lanka to reflect the change on Monday (12 December).
"In December 2022, the government of Sri Lanka announced travellers are no longer required to produce Covid-19 vaccination certificates on arrival in Sri Lanka," said the FCDO. "Pre-departure Covid-19 tests are also no longer required before arrival."
