Star Clippers UK has grown its sales team in order to meet customer demand.
UK general manager Fay McCormack said customers were increasingly looking for trips onboard smaller ships, so increasing the popularity of their three vessels.
As a result, Alison Jared has been appointed regional sales manager in charge of developing relationships in the north of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Eire. She starts the position in early September.
McCormack said: “Star Clippers’ sales growth in the UK has been phenomenal, particularly over the last six or seven years.
“This is now being driven by the move away from massive cruise liners and resultant demand for more intimate cruise experiences, as well as by some of the very exotic locations that the Clippers now sail in.
“This winter season we are returning to Asia, with north and southbound sailings in the idyllic waters in Thailand and Malaysia, we have a third season in Cuba with the opportunity to stay on board for a night in Havana and Cienguegos, and in 2016 Star Clippers will start an inaugural sailing in Indonesian waters.
“Alison’s appointment will help agents in the north of England, Scotland and Ireland to gain a better understanding of the product and destinations and further expand sales.”
