Just seven travel companies have made it to a list of the country’s leading private mid-market growth companies.
The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table charts private companies that must have achieved either sales or profits growth of at least 10% in the last year of trading.
The top-performing travel company under these criteria is Gatwick, which saw sales grow 10% to £593.7 million while profits of £147 million represent a 26% increase. This put the airport in 6th position.
Coming in at number 16 was GM Communications which trades as Miki Travel and which has profits of £16.8 million, a 24% increase, following a 12% boost in sales to £534.8 million.
