The carrier, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, will operate three times a week. East Midlands will be the airline’s 14th UK and Ireland departure point.
SunExpress is also launching new routes from existing airports across the UK and Ireland. These include a twice weekly service to Bodrum from both Gatwick and Manchester.
Also new are twice weekly flights from Cork to Antalya and Dublin to Dalaman.
Expansion means SunExpress will offer 2.1 million seats from the UK and Ireland for summer 2026, a 10% increase over 2025.
Tobias Bracht, head of sales, said: “With direct flights to Turkey from 14 airports next summer, we will be offering more choice, convenience and value than ever before, reinforcing our commitment to being the leading leisure carrier from the UK and Ireland to Turkey.”
