It comes after the country’s Centre of Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced plans to end a nationwide emergency decree on Friday (30 September).
The country will also reclassify Covid from a "dangerous communicable disease" to a "communicable disease under surveillance" on 1 October.
According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the ending of the decree – which has been in place since 25 March 2020 – will result in the CCSA being dissolved, and all regulations, announcements, and orders issued by the country’s government under the decree will be revoked.
The country will also extend its period of stay to 45 days from 30 days for tourists from countries approved for visa exemption, and to 30 days from 15 days for those eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA).
