The Foreign Office said since December, taxi drivers have been blocking roads and targeting Ubers in Cancun’s hotel zone in a series of demonstrations against the company.
According to the FCDO, tourists have been affected – including being pulled from their Ubers – and experiencing lengthy delays as a result of roadblocks, sometimes leading to missed flights.
"Protests can occur without notice," said the FCDO in an update to its travel advice for Mexico on Wednesday (25 January). "Please listen to local announcements and follow the advice of your hotel on how best to avoid any protests."
