The cross-party committee of MPs said it wanted to assess the impact “new and disruptive technologies and trends” could have across the industry.
It has launched an appeal for “experts, researchers and innovative thinkers” to share their views on what the committee should be investigating as it scrutinises government transport policy.
The appeal follows recent comments from new committee chair Iain Stewart to TTG about offering a more forward-looking perspective.
“I’m keen we do more horizon-scanning and anticipate issues coming up so we can steer the debate. I want us to have a reputation for looking at all the evidence and coming up with constructive scrutiny,” he said.
Committee members want to hear about “subjects they may have never come across before” from those in the sector working on innovations “that deserve more attention”.
Those wishing to share their ideas should send a 500-word proposal via the committee’s website before midday on 6 February.
A shortlist of investigation ideas will be made and those who have submitted them invited to present their proposals during a future committee session.
