Travel Counsellors has reported its best January on record with sales of almost £115 million – 50% up on January 2020.
The homeworking giant said it was trading 65% up on pre-pandemic levels since the start of its financial year on 1 November 2022.
Last month saw Travel Counsellors achieve eight out of its 10 best sales day in the company’s 28-year history – with its biggest day on record bring in sales of £6.5m.
Both Travel Counsellors’ leisure and corporate sales in the UK saw a rise with figures increasing by 60% and 105% since 2022.
Travel Counsellors said its UK leisure business had “attracted more new customers than ever before” in January 2023 – with booking volumes increasing by more than 40% on January 2019 and 377 of its agents celebrating their best ever month.
Trips were booked for more than 78,500 passengers in January, with more than 7,000 new customers and the US, Spain, Greece, UAE and the Maldives making up the agency’s top-selling destinations.
The company also saw its highest ever bookings month through its in-house booking system Phenix, with more than 75% of “premium” leisure sales sourced through the platform.

“January has been a month of records being broken, but more so, highlighting the power of our community and ways in which we can support one another to look after customers and achieve such growth. We have seen around half of our Travel Counsellors working in teams, a concept we continue to build on and support using our platform, which has enabled them to collaborate, share expertise and knowledge and be even more successful.”
