The group began its hike on Friday (23 June), reaching Ben Nevis in seven hours before tackling Scafell Pike the next morning despite poor weather conditions. The Travel Counsellors then went onto Snowdon, completing the final hike in five hours, raising a total of £16,436 for the charity.
“This was a mammoth challenge and an incredible adventure with hardly much sleep but we are proud to now say we did it and have smashed our fundraising target thanks to the generosity of our colleagues, friends and family,” said general manager Matt Harding, who took part in the hikes.
“We are really proud to support Reuben’s Retreat, whose tireless efforts to provide solace and support to those in need has touched our team and we are humbled to be part of the mission to make a difference.”
Founded in 2012, Reuben’s Retreat is a non-profit organisation that supports families with sick children as well as those who have lost a child. It has been aided by Travel Counsellors since its inception and was made official charity partner four years ago.
