The trio were recognised for making it onto the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies list, which was revealed during an awards ceremony in London yesterday (February 23).

It was the fourth year running that Kuoni UK had made it onto the list.

The Dorking-based operator, which is part of German travel group DER Touristik, scored highly in a number of categories considered by the list’s judges including: ‘I love working for this organisation’, ‘I am excited about where this organisation is going’ and ‘My manager cares about how satisfied I am in my job’.

Initiatives including a huge fruit delivery to promote staff wellbeing, parties with live bands, overseas educational trips and a four-week induction programme were listed as some of the reasons why the company scored highly as a great workplace.

John Hays, managing director of Hays Travel said he was “absolutely delighted” to see his company named on the list.

“The company would be nothing without its amazing team, so I am thrilled that we are recognised as having a happy and motivated workforce,” he said.

Katie Woods-Ruddick, Hays Travel’s head of HR and training, added: “I am so proud that we have made it into this prestigious list. We work really hard to ensure our employees are engaged and highly motivated, which contributes to the success of the company.

“We complete internal employee engagement surveys every year, but to receive external recognition highlighting our employee satisfaction levels as some of the highest in the country is a real achievement.”

Holiday Extras also received a wellbeing special award at the 100 Best Companies ceremony.
