Thorne Travel has been congratulated in the parliament for being named the best agent in the UK and Ireland in the TTG Top 50.
The Scottish agency, which scooped the award last month at a glittering ceremony in Birmingham, has now been congratulated by local MP Patricia Gibson in an early day motion read out in the House of Commons.
In the motion, Gibson said: “This house congratulates Kilwinning-based travel agent, Thorne Travel, on winning the UK and Ireland’s best travel agent award, an award that seeks to recognise excellence in retailing, with over 700 entries received.”

The motion added that the house “commends the hard work and dedication of that family-run business to provide the best experience for its customers; acknowledges the firm’s innovative use of digital marketing, ensuring that it is able to reach customers from all over the world, putting North Ayrshire on the map.”
The agency said it was “over the moon” about the MP’s motion.
