The Travel Network Group has launched a new marketing campaign to help members reassure customers about health and safety, as well as issues such as refunds.
TTNG’s Ask Us campaign, which features a range of promotional materials for members to use online or in-store, encourages consumers to speak to the consortium’s members directly.
The campaign has been unveiled following consumer research showing that while more than half (53%) wanted to book an overseas holiday in the next three to 12 months, they were confused about quarantine and refund policies which was deterring them from making a booking.
TTNG chief executive Gary Lewis said: “It’s clear that we will be dealing with the impact of the pandemic for a long time, so empowering and enabling people to travel safely is key to helping the industry get back on its feet.
“We know from our research – and from our own experiences over the last seven months – that people have an appetite for travel but are understandably concerned about their health and safety.”
The survey found that half of respondents thought that government guidance on overseas holidays had not been clear, while 30% were worried about getting refunds on flights and accommodation.
“We know that our members have the expertise, impartiality and knowledge to help customers understand the ever-changing travel regulations as well as the steps that airlines, resorts and tour operators are taking to keep people safe abroad, so this campaign is aimed at ensuring customers know what a brilliant source of knowledge our members are,” added Lewis.
The campaign feature images from iconic destinations and encourages customers to ask agents questions such as where it is safe to travel, what are the latest travel regulations and about changing bookings.
