Group revenue quintupled from €468 million to €2.37 billion, with “strong booking momentum across all markets” and “new bookings for summer 2022 now above pre-crisis levels”.
Average summer prices are up 22% on Q1 last year, with winter up 15%.
Tui chief executive Fritz Joussen said: "We expect a strong summer 2022. The path out of the pandemic is becoming increasingly clear. Demand for travel is high across all markets.”
Tui added: “As of 30 January, 3.5 million Tui customers had booked a trip for summer 2022.
“This is around 72% of the level of summer 2019 at the same time. However, new bookings are now over 100% of the level of summer 2019, so the group expects summer 2022 to be close to the pre-crisis level.”
