The deal site claimed domestic breaks were "high on the agenda", after more than a third (35%) of the 2,214 people surveyed reported they were likely to book three to four UK holidays in 2022.
The report showed the most important factor when booking a UK hotel break was the ability to change dates or be flexible on dates without a penalty (45%), yet 86% of respondents said they would book a spontaneous UK hotel break if the offer "was attractive enough".
Nearly all (96%) of those surveyed said they would would book a break even if they hadn’t planned to if the deal was attractive enough.
Just under half (45%) of respondents said they were looking for a cottage stay and 44% a country or manor house hotel booking, rather than bigger chain hotels or B&Bs.
Travelzoo’s "Top 20" deals, which were released last week, saw the highest number of clicks since pre-pandemic with almost two thirds of respondents (59%) researching travel ideas for later this year and just over a fifth (22%) had already made domestic travel reservations.
