A US-based organisation has been formed to help lobby the government, rebuild consumer confidence and drive the industry’s recovery.
Travel Again - a not-for-profit, volunteer organization focuses on restoring traveller confidence and “rebuilding the global travel industry”. Among Travel Again’s aims are to bring separate initiatives together under one coordinated approach and act as contact point for policy makers.
Travel Again said: “Supplier-led efforts have produced the vast majority of information and policy materials to date, but it is not centrally catalogued, reviewed and organised.”
It added: “Congressional support exists but needs to be coordinated.”
It has now confirmed a 24-strong team of policy advisors, including representatives from American Airlines, Hilton and Amadeus.
“We are excited to have this outstanding group of leaders representing all facets of our industry join us in our mission to help rebuild the global travel industry,” said Travel Again co-founder Mike McCormick.
“This highly experienced working group will help us tackle the challenge of bringing our industry together to improve traveller confidence and work closer together to build the road to recovery.”
