The Asia specialist has just successfully operated its inaugural 11-day Spirit of Scotland tour, as it resumed departures for the first time in more than 18 months with Wendy Wu’s traditional Far East destinations still “largely closed” to UK visitors.
The operator announced plans in July for its first Scottish trip departing in October, which sold out within one week, helped by “concerted” support from agents.
Wendy Wu is now adding new departures for the Spirit of Scotland tour throughout spring, summer and autumn 2022, which will be backed by trade familiarisation initiatives and booking incentives.
The operator is also adding a new nine-day Christmas in Scotland itinerary from Glasgow on 19-27 December 2021, including visits to Loch Lomond, Loch Tay, Dunkeld and Edinburgh.
Wendy Wu, founder of Wendy Wu Tours, said: “Scotland has proven to be a great success, and we can’t thank our agent friends and loyal customers enough for standing by us and supporting us.
“Some would say, being an Asia touring specialist, we took a gamble launching a Scottish programme, but no, we were confident it would work, as we took the time in the planning stages to consult with agents to find out how we could help them and their customers to get back touring again.”
