Royal Caribbean International has teamed up with TTG Media to offer independent high street agencies a chance to win a store makeover worth £20,000.
To take part, agents are asked to demonstrate their creative flair by designing an extraordinary high street retail space with a nod to the innovation onboard Royal Caribbean’s own ships.
Agents might create a sketch, a collage, a model from Lego or use a simple digital design programme to convey their ideas for an extraordinary store.
It might contain top-notch technology, a kids’ zone, a food outlet – anything that will tempt customers in and inspire them while buying their holiday.
The winning agency will receive the store revamp as well as funding to hold a relaunch party in their local community with a cruise for two people to give away.
Five finalists will join Royal Caribbean at the TTG Travel Awards on September 18, where the winner and two runners-up will be announced.
Amanda Darrington, sales director, Royal Caribbean International UK and Ireland, said: “We’re always looking for extraordinary new ways to engage with our travel agent partners, which is why we’re excited to be introducing the Royal Makeover with TTG. We’d encourage our partners to be as creative as possible to showcase how their high street retail space can wow their local market. We can’t wait to see the submissions.”
TTG group editor Pippa Jacks added: “Having visited lots of high street stores during our TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies initiative, I’ve seen the difference a fresh new look can make to an agency – in attracting new customers and invigorating team morale.
“We hope winning a Royal Makeover will give a deserving agency the boost it needs to take it to the next level of business success.”
Agencies must be stand-alone branches or from agency chains with 15 or fewer stores, and the agency’s owner must give their permission for the renovation work to be carried out. Entries must be submitted online or by post by August 3.
