It’s often overlooked that while Singapore Airlines offers Heathrow and London Gatwick departures, it also serves the UK’s third-biggest airport. Singapore Airlines flies five times a week from Manchester Airport to Singapore’s multi-award-winning Changi Airport, where passengers can seamlessly connect across Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Manchester Airport offers ease of access others can only dream of, with trains every 10 minutes from Manchester Piccadilly station. After a 20-minute journey, it’s a short, covered walk to the terminals. Another option is to take the Metrolink tram, which also serves the airport’s integrated transport hub that has all road and rail options under one roof.
Once through the doors, the evidence of Manchester’s transformation and expansion becomes apparent, particularly in the newly reopened Terminal 2, from which Singapore Airlines departs.
Terminal 2 doubled in size in 2021, and the old building has now been refurbished to match the extension. New check-in and security areas with next generation security equipment are a welcome feature, while the departure lounge has more than 20 new outlets, with the Boutique Mall also soon to open.
The latest addition to T2 will be a first-of-its-kind market hall-style dining area with six street food kitchens. The Great Northern Market seats 500 and features cuisine ranging from pizza to buttermilk chicken via smash burgers, plus sweet treats from Mancunian institution Gooey.
In addition, Singapore Airlines’ Business Class passengers and PPS Club members will find dining options in the terminal’s stylish 1903 Lounge, while KrisFlyer Elite Gold members have access to the Escape Lounge.
Wherever you spend your time, Terminal 2 is a relaxing way to wait before the flight leaves. SQ301 departs Manchester at 10.05am, arriving at 7.15 am the following day, allowing for a host of flight connections. Flying to the UK, SQ302 departs Singapore at 2.10am, arriving at Manchester at 8.35 am, permitting a complete night’s sleep and a full day ahead.
Award-winning hospitality and service
Unlike some carriers, Singapore Airlines, voted Skytrax Best Airline in Asia in 2025, uses the same state-of-the-art aircraft on Manchester services as it does on its London flights. In this case, the Airbus A350-900 is a real reason to choose the regional gateway. The A350’s composite construction means greater cabin pressure and humidity, so passengers will feel less dehydrated and less jet-lagged when they arrive – a big selling point on a journey of typically around 14 hours.
Throughout the flight passengers are looked after by Singapore Airlines' expert team, who were awarded "World's Best Cabin Crew" at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
The aircraft offers three cabins, with 187 Economy seats, 24 Premium Economy seats and a Business Class of 42 seats that become fully flat beds and are in a 1-2-1 layout. Whichever cabin passengers choose to fly in, they can enjoy unlimited complimentary WiFi (passengers travelling in Premium Economy or Economy class can access it when they sign up for the KrisFlyer loyalty scheme). Another bonus is that all Economy passengers have a hold baggage allowance of at least 25kg.
On arrival, connecting to another flight at Changi Airport is a breeze and passengers with a layover between 5.5 and 24 hours can embark on one of four free Singapore Tours exploring the city.
It all adds up to a compelling case for selling Singapore Airlines’ flights from Manchester in 2026. There’s no need to head to London to connect; for travellers and agents in the northwest, the gateway to Asia and Australasia is on your doorstep, and with Singapore Airlines there’s no better way to get there.
