Iberostar Hotels and Resorts' portfolio is packed with winter sun possibilities for clients looking to escape the cold. Discover how you can match couples with their perfect retreat in three top destinations.

With winter on the horizon, customers will be seeking mid-range destinations with year-round warmth such as the Canaries and North Africa. If those clients include discerning, responsible tourism-minded couples, Iberostar is well worth a look.

Not only does the hotel group have adult-only properties in winter sun favourites, but also a Star Prestige upgrade option at selected resorts, bringing access to exclusive tranquil areas. In addition, several hotels have locations particularly suited to couples.

The premier perks of Star Prestige come with a refreshing price tag. When you upgrade clients to these higher category rooms, they’ll also have access to VIP pools, sun terraces and relaxation rooms, besides varied benefits from late check out, to Balinese beds, to spa access.

As Star Prestige areas are adult-only, they’re peaceful retreats, even within hotels that welcome families. This means a wider range of Iberostar properties where you can confidently place couples.

And importantly, Iberostar is working to protect the environment through its impressive Wave of Change movement. Among its raft of initiatives, it restores coastal ecosystems such as coral dunes and mangroves, uses renewable electricity throughout its Spanish hotels and in Brazil, and implements AI to reduce food waste, with plans to be carbon neutral by 2030.

Here's what Iberostar can offer your client couples in three popular winter sun destinations.

Canaries

JOIA Salome by Iberostar

Customers can enjoy the stunning views at JOIA Salomé by Iberostar

Spain is a summer holiday favourite so, in colder months, the country’s further flung Canary Islands, with their year-round sunshine and dramatic volcanic landscapes, are a natural choice.

Peaceful relaxation is assured at Iberostar’s adults-only properties in Tenerife and Fuerteventura.

Tenerife’s five-star JOIA El Mirador by Iberostar (formerly Iberostar Grand El Mirador) is designed for romance, with traditional, elegant architecture and decor. With a Star Prestige upgrade, couples can enjoy the exclusive La Balconada area plus the glamour of personalised butler and concierge services.

Nearby, boutique-style JOIA Salomé by Iberostar (previously Iberostar Grand Salomé) is an adults-only enclave within the wider Iberostar Selection Anthelia resort, meaning guests can access a wide range of bars and restaurants. Book your clients a suite and they’ll enjoy VIP butler service along with spectacular sea views.

On the same Costa Adeje coast, Iberostar Selection Sábila is a more contemporary adults-only choice with bright, minimalist décor and a food market-style gastronomic option. As with the other resorts, there’s an exclusive Star Prestige area and a spa for ultimate relaxation.

Among other couples-focused hotels in the Canaries, recently renovated Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace has a wide range of facilities and, for guests who opt for Star Prestige, a smart, renovated relaxation space with solarium, lounge and pool.

Morocco

For couples, the appeal of Morocco for winter sun is all about vibrant locations. They can mix resort relaxation with haggling for handicrafts and spices in sprawling souks.

Iberostar Waves Club Palmeraie Marrakech offers the best of both worlds. With traditional architecture and swathes of palm trees, it’s something of an all-inclusive oasis, yet close enough (by free bus) to visit bustling Jemmaa el-Fnaa square and the famous souk or stroll the romantic Yves Saint Laurent-designed Jardin Marjorelle. The hotel has impressive sports facilities and an adults-only swimming pool and spa with hammam.

For couples who prefer a coastal escape, all-inclusive Iberostar Waves Founty Beach in Agadir has a prime beachfront location and chances to explore the nearby souk and historic Kasbah Oufella or even take a gorge hike in stunning Paradise Valley. In resort, a choice of indoor and outdoor pools and a Moroccan-style spa aid relaxation.

Tunisia

The spa at Iberostar Selection Royal El Mansour

Iberostar Selection Royal El Mansour is famed for its thalassotherapy centre

Blissful beach and opportunities for cultural and historical exploration blend seamlessly in Tunisia.

A perfect example is Iberostar Selection Royal El Mansour, which has a prime beachfront setting next to the old town of Mahdia. Couples can ease their stresses away in the hotel’s renowned thalassotherapy centre or its sauna and Turkish baths.

On the northeast coast of Djerba Island, an historic Unesco-listed destination with whitewashed villages, sits Iberostar Selection Eolia Djerba.

This newly refurbished five-star property comes with a traditionally tiled Thalassotherapy centre to soothe body and mind. There’s an adults-only pool, besides the option of Star Prestige upgrades. Out and about, your clients can explore island capital Houmt Souk, a lively hub with traditional architecture.

Other hotels offering Star Prestige include Iberostar Selection Kuriat Palace, a contemporary hotel on the beachfront in Skanes, and Iberostar Selection Diar el Andalous at Port Kantaoui, which is near a golf course and has an enticing sun terrace with whirlpool bath for Star Prestige guests.

Both hotels lie close to the historic cities of Sousse, which has an Unesco-listed medina, and Monastir, which boasts North Africa’s oldest Islamic fortress.
