A former Eastern Airways employee turned travel agent has lamented how the regional airline never recovered from the Covid pandemic, as company suspends operations and prepares to file for administration.

Ben Langsdale, a former accountant with the airline, left in 2019 and went on to found luxury specialist agency Travel Without Limits in 2021. He said: “It was a great place to work,” but added: “The whole landscape has changed for them since Covid.”
Humberside airport-based Eastern relied heavily on the oil and gas industry as well as other business traffic. However, since the pandemic, many meetings are no longer face-to-face, and this is thought to have caused its predicament.
