Chief executive Steve Heapy pinned the airline and operator's decision to extend its programme at Gatwick on the "incredible reaction" it has received from customers and agents to the launch of its 2026 programme, which gets underway on 26 March with an inaugural Tenerife service.
The airline will increase capacity at Gatwick by more than a quarter (27%) next summer to meet "strong demand", which will see Jet2 put more than 1.1 million seats on sale and operate more than 85 flights a week during peak periods.
Jet2 will also launch an exclusive new Gatwick-Lesbos route next summer offering weekly Sunday services to the Greek island from 2 May to 10 October 2027.
The expanded programme for 2027 includes 35 destinations, with Ibiza, Malaga, Palma de Majorca and Tenerife all benefitting from increased capacity.
The highest-volume destinations are Palma de Majorca with 14 flights a week during peak periods, followed by Faro with 10 and Malaga with six.
"As well as offering a fantastic selection of flights and holidays to choose from, we are giving customers the chance to get their summer 2027 holiday booked in nice and early," added Heapy. "This is an incredibly exciting time, both for our company and for customers across the region."
The news comes after Jet2 earlier this month revealed a new partnership with Tui-owned tours and activities platform Musement which will power the airline and operator's experiences, excursions and attraction tickets offering.
