The community interest company was founded by Kuoni training executive Lauren King in memory of her daughter, Bebe, who tragically died in the summer 2024 Southport attack on a children's dance class.
Kuoni's partnership coincides with TTG's own official announcement of Bebe's Hive as its 2026 fundraising cause, which was made at the TTG Luxury Travel Awards in London on Friday (6 March).
The TTG team voted to support the cause after Lauren bravely opened up to TTG in an emotional interview about Bebe and the important work Bebe’s Hive is doing in the community.
Of the partnership with Kuoni, Lauren said: “I am incredibly proud Kuoni has chosen Bebe’s Hive as their fundraising partner. Kuoni’s culture of care is not just something they speak about – it is something I have experienced personally in the most profound way.
“After Bebe died, they stood beside me with compassion, flexibility and genuine humanity. To now see that same care extended to Bebe’s legacy is incredibly moving.”
Mark Duguid, managing director at Kuoni, said the decision reflected a deep connection felt across the company. “When we invited our teams to vote for our next cause, the response was overwhelming," he said.
“Our connection to Bebe’s Hive is personal, and to play a part in Bebe’s legacy is an honour. It means so much to us all at Kuoni to show our support in a meaningful and impactful way.
“Bebe’s Hive is dedicated to supporting children through grief with creativity, understanding and gentle guidance. The response Lauren and her team have received shows how vital community projects like this are in helping grieving children feel seen, supported and less alone.
“Our teams and I are already excited about finding ways to get involved and raise money to make a real difference to the lives of children living with grief.”
During a recent update with the team at Kuoni, Lauren shared more about Bebe’s Hive, its plans within the Southport community and ambitions for the future. “We are currently transforming our permanent Southport home into a purpose-designed creative grief support hub for children and families," she said.
“Every decision we make is rooted in Bebe’s kindness and inclusivity – creating a space where no grieving child feels alone. With Kuoni’s support, we are one step closer to opening doors that will change the lives of the little hearts dealing with the loss of a loved one.
“Since the vision was shared publicly, the growth of Bebe’s Hive has been remarkable. What began as an idea rooted in love has evolved into a powerful community movement.”
Bebe’s Hive is now progressing with its next phase of development, including strengthening safeguarding frameworks, refining referral pathways for children, expanding volunteer training, and moving forward with the full renovation of the Southport hub – all to ensure the service opens “responsibly, sustainably and with the highest level of care”.
Lauren added: “Bebe was a child who noticed others. She led with kindness and inclusion. Bebe’s Hive exists to carry that forward, creating a space where no grieving child feels unseen or alone.”
Kuoni has convened a fundraising committee to come up with exciting and fun ideas to raise funds for Bebe’s Hive.
TTG has set up a GoFundMe page to chart its efforts to raise money for Bebe’s Hive and will later this month host a fundraising quiz to support further fundraising for the cause. Get involved!
